Ekona Power is a Vancouver-based breakthrough energy technology company developing a novel methane pyrolysis platform for low-cost, clean hydrogen production. We believe this technology will have a significant and positive impact in a world trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change.


Job Summary:

We are looking for a hard-working and energetic labourer to assist the team in our workshop/lab space. You will focus on small day-to-day tasks, as well as ad-hoc requests. Our workshop/lab is a busy area with moving machinery, frequent deliveries, constant upgrades, and people walking through. Help us stay organized, safe, and efficient.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Build/assemble tables and equipment
  • Change over piping on test benches
  • Clean up / organize the workshop
  • Mount gas bottle brackets
  • Mount fire extinguishers
  • Put up PPE signage
  • Assist with moving furniture and other heavy equipment
  • Inventory control of shop consumables such as nuts and bolts, ear plugs, welding parts, lathe tips, etc.
  • Basic mechanical tasks such as bolting Unistrut to walls, cutting and deburring tube, etc.
  • Assist other staff with tasks that require more than one person, such as oxygen cleaning, or moving/installing heavy equipment
  • Other relevant duties as required


Qualifications

  • Great attitude – “yes” person
  • Basic mechanical skills and willing to learn and be taught new skills
  • 1-2 years as a labourer or workshop assistant preferred
  • Forklift licence 
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
  • WHMIS or other safety certificates an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
